The daughter of a Filipina immigrant and a first-generation Filipino American, Shea Formanes is a writer/filmmaker born and raised in New York City, currently based in Seattle. Deeply rooted in a curiosity-driven family of scientists, nurses, and cartographers, Shea tells sci-fi and fantasy stories about complicated families and women of color, who deal with the aftermath of traumatic events by healing through trust.
